MAVERICKS NOW ACCEPTING CHUCK-A-PUCK APPLICATIONS
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – Missouri Mavericks’ President and General Manager Brent Thiessen announced today the Central Hockey League (CHL) club is accepting applications for the Chuck-A-Puck sellers program for the 2010-11 season. Non-profit, community and local hockey organizations wishing to participate in Chuck-A-Puck for the 2010-11 season must submit an application no later than Friday, September 17, 2010.
Chuck-A-Puck is a contest that takes place at every Mavericks’ home game in which fans purchase foam pucks to throw on to the ice during the second intermission. Fans throw their pucks at specified targets on the ice to win prizes. The groups that sell the pucks get a portion of the money raised for their non-profit, community or local hockey organization.
Due to the overwhelming success of the program last season, the Mavericks have set criteria for the groups selling the pucks in order to give every organization a chance to raise money.
