Central Hockey League Introduces Berry and Turner Conferences
N. Thomas Berry and Joseph Turner Honored with Conference Titles
TEMPE, AZ (August 4, 2010) – Central Hockey League (CHL) Commissioner Duane Lewis announced today that the league will recognize two historic figures for both the CHL and the International Hockey League (IHL) as the title names for the league’s two respective conferences for the 2010-11 season. The CHL announced on June 1 that they have affiliated with the IHL with five teams joining the CHL for the upcoming season (Bloomington, Dayton, Evansville, Fort Wayne and Quad City).
The new conference alignment announced in July will bear the names of Joseph Turner, the Turner Conference, and N. Thomas Berry, Jr., the Berry Conference. The team that captures the Turner Conference will win the newly created Turner Trophy and the team that captures the Berry Conference will claim the N. Thomas Berry Trophy.

DEREK PALLARDY BLOG
I'm sorry in advance, and as you read this, you'll understand why I have to apologize. I have been enjoying an amazing off-season here in Independence. First of all, it's great to play a sport that has a summer off-season. I'm pretty sure that my off-season lifestlye inspires a great deal of jealousy from most of my friends. My typical day is spent working out in the morning, hanging out at the pool during the day, and teaching hockey lessons at the IEC in the evening...again, I'm sorry!

MAVERICKS ANNOUNCE EXHIBITION GAMES
Missouri will host Evansville for two pre-season contests
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – Missouri Mavericks President and General Manager Brent Thiessen announced today the Central Hockey League (CHL) team will host the Evansville IceMen for two exhibition games on Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9 at Independence Events Center. Both games will begin at 7:05 p.m.
“We are excited to bring in an IHL team that has since joined the CHL,” said Thiessen. “We believe this gives our fans an opportunity to see all of the players competing for a spot and it also gives the fans the chance to see an Evansville team that only comes to town once during the regular season.”
The Mavericks will have two price levels of tickets for each of the exhibition games. End, Terrace, Plaza and Rinkside level tickets are just $15, while Center Ice and Kryger Glass seats are $18. Tickets for the exhibition games could go on sale as early as August 14. Check www.MissouriMavericks.com for more details.
